MANU AMAZON JUNGLE 5D/4N
DAY 01: CUSCO – CLOUDED FOREST – PILCOPATA HOSTEL
We depart from Cuzco very early in the morning on our comfortable bus. We ascend to the upper area of Paucartambo. On the way we will visit the funeral towers or Chullpas of Ninamarca. Then we descend through the mysterious cloud forest, full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. We stop to give you the opportunity to witness the cock of the rocks (Rupicola peruviana) in the mating ritual. There are also opportunities to observe trogons (Trogon sp.) And much more. If we are lucky we will find the only bear in South America, the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus) In the afternoon we will arrive to our typical hostel with baths and showers available OPTIONAL CANOPY WALKWAY
DAY 02: PILLCOPATA – AMAZON LODGE – LAKE MACHUHUASI
After our breakfast, we continue on our bus to watchtower, on the way we will visit the rescue center of animals and coca plantations then we will make a walk where we can observe owls in the trees with Spectacular viewpoints, that way we will arrive at the port of Atalaya, where we will embark in our boat approx. 30 minutes to our hostel where we will spend the night. And in the afternoon we will explore Lake Machuhuasi with a small hike and there we wait for small wooden rafts or catamaran to sail about 02 hours and walks around the lake. Observing the great variety of birds, reptiles, mammals, such as capybaras, monkeys, dwarf caimans, oropendolas, parrots, toucans, hoatzins (prehistoric birds), cardinals, oropendolas and many. . At night we will have night walk. Night in Hostel with bathrooms and showers available.
DAY 03: AMAZON LODGE – PARRTOS CLAY – LOST LAKE
Early in the morning we leave by boat to the parrot colpa, where we observe 4 to 6 species of small parrots and macaws, then we will have our delicious breakfast next to the whistles of the parrots after We will explore the virgin forest about 5 km observing monkeys, snakes, macaws, wild pigs and with luck the lazy bear or the larger mammals like tapir or jaguar. After a typical lunch and a siesta we will visit the lost lake where we have more opportunity to see more animals like birds, monkeys, capybaras, giant toucans, river otter and many more. This day we have time to go swimming in the river or go fishing. Night walks (optional). Night in Hostel with bathrooms and showers available. OPTIONAL CANOPY ZIPLINE / FLYING FOX.
DAY 04: AMAZON LODGE – AGUAS CALIENTES – NATIVE COMMUNITY OF SHINTUYA
This day we continue with our boat trip along the high Madre de Dios river. On the way we will observe many species of birds such as the different species of herons, parrots, oropendolas , Garrapateros and the gallinazos, passing through several communities that live along the river along the same way we will visit the native communities of Shintuya where we will have a walk in the town observing their typical houses. After a rest we go downstream to visit A waterfalls or waterfalls after enjoying the beautiful landscapes of this place we return to the Natural Hot Springs or hot springs that has medicinal properties as well as arthritis and bone pain and in the afternoon we return to our lodge amazon lodge. DAY 05: AMAZON LODGE – ATALAYA – CUSCO
Return by boat from the amazon lodge to Atalaya passing through Pilcopata, again visiting the mysterious cloud forest to the Imperial city of Cusco. We will visit the cloud forest again where we can see some animals. Arrival in Cusco about 6.00pm approximately.
