MANU JUNGLE TOUR 3 DAYS
DAY 1: CUSCO – CLOUD FOREST – PILCOPATA
We depart from Cuzco very early in the morning (4:30 am); on our comfortable bus. We will ascend to the upper area of Paucartambo. On the way we will visit the funeral towers or Chullpas of Ninamarca. Then we descend through the mysterious cloud forest, full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. We stop to give you the opportunity to witness the cock of the rocks (Rupicola peruviana) in the mating ritual. There are also opportunities to observe trogons (Trogon sp.) And much more. If we are lucky we will find the only bear in South America, the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus). In the afternoon we will arrive to our typical hostel with baths and showers.
DAY 2: AMAZON LODGE – LAKE MACHUHUASI
After a delicious breakfast, we continue our journey to the rescue center of animals where we will have a brief explanation so we will find owls resting in the trees. Around noon we will arrive at our typical hostel where we will have our lunch and in the afternoon we will visit the Machuhuasi cocha, where we will walk on a typical catamaran of the area to observe a great variety of birds, monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans and insects, groups of turtles and perhaps some ronsocos (Hydrochaeris hydrochaeris) after this unforgettable walk we will return to our lodge, in the night we will do a nocturnal walk. Dinner and overnight stay in lodge with bathrooms and showers available.
DAY 3: AMAZON LODGE – MACAW CLAY LICK – CLOUD FOREST – CUSCO
Very early we will go in boat to the parrot’s lick. Where we will observe 3 to 4 species of small parrots and macaws, then we will have a delicious breakfast and continue with our boat trip to watchtower; after to came back to Atalaya port we will take our bus bacak to Cusco, arriving to the main square at 6:00 pm aproximatly.
