SALKANTAY TREK + CLASSIC INCA TRAIL 6D/5N
The trek crosses the most majestic places of the Andes of Cusco. It is a trekking where only few visitors go. The highest mountain is the Salkantay, one of the most sacred apus or totems of the Incas. You will also be able to appreciate turquoise lagoons, breathe clean and pure air from the highlands.
After a crossing you will enter the town of Huayllabamba, where you will meet the porters, to explore the most sacred Inca Trail; to the citadel of Machupicchu. Along the route you will enjoy the unique flora and fauna of the historic sanctuary of Machupicchu. Many archaeological sites whose use was exclusively of the nobility.
DAY 1: CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – HUMANTAY LAKE – ICHUPATA
We start the day by picking you up at your hotel at 05:00 AM. We will drive for around 4 hours, crossing Anta and Mollepata and ending up at Soraypampa. Through the windows of the bus you can clearly see the white, snowcapped mountains of Apus Salkantay and Humantay. You will also see spectacular scenery of high peaks and low valleys in a colorful and contrasting panorama filling every direction you turn your eyes. After the first two hours of driving, we will stop in Mollepata to take advantage of the toilet facilities, souvenir shops, and an optional, short breakfast. We will then continue to Soraypampa, the starting point for our trek. We will meet our support staff, and they will organize all of the equipment and cargo mules. Around 09:30 AM, we will begin trekking to Lake Humantay (3850 Meters– 12631 Feets)
After to enjoy the views in Humantay , we going down to Soraypampa camping site for the Lunch, then we will start the trekking towards Salkantaypampa and finally Ichupata where we will sleep. This night gonna be really cold. Our experts cooks will surprise us with delicious warm food.

DAY 2: ICHUPATA –PANPA JAPONESA – PAMPACAHUANA
After an early wake up and hearty breakfast, we start on a gentle uphill to Incachiriasca pass (4850m/15908ft) the highest point of the trek, we enjoy the views of this imposing mountain in front of our eyes , the mountain of Salkantay is the second highest mountain in the Cusco region and one of the Inca gods called “Apu”. As we ascend, we will make stops along the way to enjoy the outstanding mountain scenery of the Vilcabamba range, then we will descend towards our lunch spot at Sisaypampa, a flat area from which one can observe the neighboring Salkantay Valleys. After lunch, we will gradually continue descending to our campsite in Pampacahuana community (3,700 m / 12,136 ft), located next to an original Inca canal. This is our camp for the night.

DAY 3: PAMPACAHUANA – PAUCARCANCHA – HUAYLLABAMBA – AYAPATA
Today, we will start with a 3-hour steep downhill trek to the Incan ruins at Inkaracay (also known as Paucarcancha). It is an archeological site well worth exploring.Afterward, we will continue hiking down to the small village of Huayllabamba where we join the traditional Inca Trail. Where is our lunch spot, there will say goodbye to our horsemen and the horses. After making a lunch stop, we will head up to our campsite, through a steep, but very scenic, climb, it takes like 2 hours. Our campsite tonight is at Ayapata.

DAY 4: AYAPATA – DEATH WOMAN PASS – SAYACMARCA – CHAQUICOCHA
Today, we will reach the highest point on the Inca Trail (dead woman pass) (Warmihuañusca) (4200 Meters– 13776 Feets). On reaching the pass we’ll stop for a short break to enjoy the views before setting off again to descend to the next valley (Pacaymayu Valley – Hidden River). It’s another hour and a half down the side of the valley to our lunch spot and a chance to refill our water bottles. After lunch we begin ascending again to the second pass of the trek. After a two hour descent, we will arrive at Pacaymayo Valley (3600 meters/ 11808 Feets) where we lunch. We then continue up to the second pass (Runkurakay) (3970 Meters /13022 Feets), stopping halfway to visit the impressive archaeological site of Runkurakay. Going over the pass, we descend toward Lake Yanacocha and enter into the cloud forest to arrive at the Sayacmarca Inca ruins (3624 Meters/ 11887 Feets). Our campsite is at Chaquicocha (3400 Meters /11154 Feets).

DAY 5: CHAQUICOCHA – PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAY WAYNA
Today, we will take an easy climb in the morning to the last pass with its Incan ruins of the same name (Phuyupatamarca, 3700 Meters / 12136 Feets). Here, we will also have remarkable views of the Urubamba River Valley. Afterward, we go into the rain forest. We will walk downhill for 3 hours. During this stretch of the trail we will visit Inti Pata. Along this path you will take the most beautiful pictures of the entire Inca trail. After Inti Pata it is a further 30 minutes to our campsitewe descend to the Wiñaywayna campsite (2650 Meter / 8692 Feets) and visit the archeological site there after lunch.

DAY 6: WIÑAY WAYNA – SUN GATE – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Today we arrive at the long-awaited finale of our trek, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site – Machu Picchu. After an early start to our day, we arrive at the campsite exit gate where we must wait in line until 5 AM. The Machu Picchu entrance check point is open from 06:00 AM until 17:00 PM. Subsequently, we will hike one hour until we arrive at the Sun Gate (Intipuncu) which looks down onto Machu Picchu. We will arrive early to enjoy its serenity in the soft morning light. From there, we will walk downhill on a stone path to enter the hidden Royal Citadel of the Incas with impressive panoramic views all the way down. We will have a 2-hour guided tour through this incredible ancient city to visit temples, terraces, palaces, priest’s houses, the sundial, the industrial sector, and the farming fields. Be amazed at the engineering ingenuity of the Incas which was so far ahead of their time and still partially a mystery today
When you are finished exploring the extraordinary city of Machu Picchu you will travel to Aguas Calientes by bus. You will then take the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo where our van will be waiting to transport you back to Cusco. Arrival time in Cusco will according the train back Schedule we have at 14:30 pm and 19:00 pm. So the total time combining trail plus van is like 4 hours.

- Pre-departure briefing: You will meet your guide in our office, for an orientation trek and provide you the duffle bags which will be carried by our horses.
- Pick up from your hotel in the morning and transfer in private transportation to Soraypampa (starting point of the trek).

You will not have access to your duffel until your evening campsite.
